Soleau secures first major wholesale listing with Castell Howell

Welsh canned spring water brand Soleau has landed its first major wholesale listing after signing a deal with Castell Howell Foods, one of the UK’s largest independent foodservice suppliers.

The agreement marks a significant step forward for the family‑run business as it expands distribution across Wales and into wider UK foodservice channels.

Soleau is sourced from a natural spring on the family’s working farm in Usk, Monmouthshire, where the brand was created as a long‑term diversification project focused on land stewardship, rural employment and sustainable growth. The move into Castell Howell’s portfolio strengthens the brand’s mission to build a resilient, farm‑led drinks business rooted in Welsh provenance.

The partnership brings together two companies with shared values around family ownership, local sourcing and supporting rural supply chains. Castell Howell is well known for championing independent and farm‑based producers, making it a natural first major wholesale partner for Soleau.

“Soleau was created to diversify our family farm while protecting the spring and building a sustainable business for future generations,” said founder Sara Jones. “Securing our first major wholesaler listing with Castell Howell – a business that genuinely values family producers and Welsh agriculture – is incredibly meaningful for us.”

Soleau Spring Water is sourced, canned and distributed entirely in the UK, offering operators a premium, lower‑impact alternative to imported bottled water with full traceability back to the farm. Castell Howell continues to grow its roster of artisan and family‑run suppliers in response to rising demand for products with clear provenance and strong sustainability credentials.

“Soleau is an excellent example of farm diversification done well,” said Lindsey Hamer, Welsh produce specialist at Castell Howell. “Its family‑run roots, provenance and quality make it a great fit for our customers and our values.”

The listing marks Soleau’s first major step into national foodservice distribution. With a new flavoured range launching in 2026, the partnership forms part of the brand’s wider strategy to scale sustainably while remaining firmly family‑owned and farm‑led.
